The short version: A turn preview should update before commitment and explain delays, interrupts, and ties consistently.

Turn order is tactical information. Hiding it often turns difficulty into memory or guesswork.

Show the next meaningful sequence before the player commits. When speed changes, update the preview immediately. If an interrupt, delay, or tie can reorder actions, reveal the rule through inspection and keep the result consistent.

The preview does not need to expose every future roll. It needs to answer whether a guardian can protect an ally before impact, whether a healer can recover in time, and whether a controller’s slow effect changes the current round.

Use shape and position alongside color so the sequence remains legible. The W3C guidance on use of color provides a useful general test: information should have another visual means.
